Gift Planning 101: Building the Foundation for Fundraising Success
Join Mid-America Charitable Gift Planners for Gift Planning 101, a dynamic half-day program designed to equip nonprofit professionals with the essential tools, strategies, and confidence to grow their organization’s gift planning efforts.
Whether you’re new to planned giving, wear multiple hats in your development role, or are looking to strengthen an existing program, this event delivers practical, real-world insights you can immediately apply—regardless of your organization’s size or resources.
The morning kicks off with facilitated networking, giving you the opportunity to connect with peers facing similar opportunities and challenges. From there, our featured FRED Talk: State of the Sector will provide a high-level look at current trends shaping philanthropy and what they mean for your organization moving forward.
Attendees will then choose from a series of breakout sessions tailored to both foundational knowledge and practical application, including:
- Estate Planning 101 – Understanding the core building blocks for meaningful donor conversations
- Maximizing Impact with DAFs, IRAs, and Stock Gifts – Unlocking accessible giving vehicles for today’s donors
- Operational Integration – Aligning your database, back-office support, and prospect development for stronger results
- Tools for Small Shops – Leveraging internal and external resources to build an efficient and effective program
We’ll close the program with a powerful Donor Panel, where philanthropists share firsthand insights into their decision-making process, motivations, and what truly resonates when considering a legacy gift.
By the end of the program, you’ll walk away with actionable ideas, a stronger understanding of gift planning fundamentals, and valuable connections within the philanthropic community.
Note: This program is eligible for 4 CFRE continuing education credits
